Frequently asked questions
Most guests will be driving to Shrine Mont, either directly from home or from a DC-area airport. If you put “Shrine Mont” into your GPS, you will be able to navigate directly to the property. Written directions are available here.
You’ll know you reached your destination when you see the impossible-to-miss four-story historic hotel, with its three levels of wrap-around porches, on your left. Park in the attached lot and head inside to check in.
Pro tip: There are a few cell service and data dead zones when you get within a few miles of the property. Try not to exit your navigation app as you get closer to the site.
Breakfast, lunch, and dinner are served family-style in Tucker Dining Hall. Tables are communal, so sit wherever you like. Saturday night dinner will be replaced by the wedding reception.
Each meal is announced by the ringing of two bells. The first bell rings 5 minutes before the meal. The second bell rings when the dining hall doors open.
Regular dining hall schedule:
Breakfast – 8:00am
Lunch – 12:30pm
Dinner – 5:30pm
No. Shrine Mont does not allow pets on the property.
Shrine Mont is very relaxed, but here are some loose guidelines if you want to be sure your attire is appropriate.
Daytime activities and meals at the dining hall: Casual. Shorts, jeans, t-shirts, and flip flops are fine.
Welcome party/Sangeet: Colorful casual. Shorts or jeans are still fine, but those with Indian attire are encouraged to wear it! Be aware that the rec hall is not air conditioned. Weather at Shrine Mont can vary – usually it’s a little cooler in the evenings (between 65 and 75 degrees) but check your weather app to be on the safe side.
Wedding & reception: Cocktail attire. However, those in suits can feel free to forgo a tie, and we highly recommend flat shoes, given the outdoor setting.

Pack a swimsuit and good pair of walking shoes or hiking boots. Evenings and early mornings can be cool (fingers crossed!) and mountain showers occasionally pass through, so bring a light jacket.
For the sporty crowd, there are tennis courts, mountain bike trails, and a few local fishing holes nearby. If you'd like to partake, however, you should bring your own rackets/bikes/fishing poles, etc.
There is no need to pack linens. Towels and linens will be in your cabin.
